Request InformationBuilt on Decades of Motorsport and Wind Tunnel Engineering
Founded by former Formula 1 aerodynamicist Dr. Barney Garrood PhD, Aerosensor designs and manufactures aerodynamic probes and data acquisition hardware for professional measurement applications. Their instrumentation is built on decades of high-level motorsport, wind tunnel testing, and experimental aerodynamics — engineered for accuracy, repeatability, and robustness in the most demanding test environments.
Every probe is individually calibrated in Aerosensor’s purpose-built in-house wind tunnel, validated across five discrete flow speeds and the full operating yaw and pitch angle ranges. Calibration data is supplied as straightforward lookup tables for fast implementation in real-time systems or post-processing workflows.
For applications beyond standard configurations, Aerosensor works directly with customers on bespoke probe designs and complete measurement systems.

Aerosensor Probes and Data Acquisition
K-Tec Systems distributes the full Aerosensor probe and scanner line to U.S. customers. All probes are individually calibrated. Custom geometries and bespoke configurations are available upon inquiry.

5-Hole Probes
High-fidelity three-dimensional flow vector measurement
Five-hole probes resolve the full 3D flow vector — total pressure, static pressure, and flow direction in both yaw and pitch — using five pressure ports arranged around the probe tip. Manufactured via Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS) in stainless steel, titanium, or Inconel. Probes can be supplied with or without an integrated static ring for improved static pressure accuracy in low-gradient flow conditions.

Kiel Probes
Accurate total pressure measurement across wide flow angles
Aerosensor’s Kiel probes extend reliable total pressure measurement to flow angles up to ±50° — far beyond the ±5° limitation of a standard pitot tube. The shrouded tip design maintains accuracy in highly directional or turbulent flows where conventional pitot probes would introduce significant error. Standard models include the KP12, KP37, and KP59; custom geometries available.

Kiel Rakes
Simultaneous multi-point total pressure measurement
Kiel rakes provide the spatial resolution that single probes cannot — measuring total pressure across a defined plane or area simultaneously. Configurable as one-piece monolithic DMLS structures for maximum rigidity, or as machined assemblies for larger configurations. Applications include boundary layer profiling, jet engine inlet and exhaust analysis, full-scale vehicle testing, and on-track Formula 1 measurement.

Yaw Pitots
Simultaneous dynamic pressure and yaw angle measurement
Yaw pitots measure both dynamic pressure and wind yaw angle in a single instrument — essential for accurate road-to-tunnel correlation. Aerodynamic forces are heavily influenced by yaw angle; without precise yaw measurement in the field, CFD and wind tunnel data cannot be reliably correlated to real-world vehicle behavior. Produced in DMLS stainless steel, Inconel, or titanium.

SC-01 Pressure Scanner
High-accuracy 8-channel differential pressure acquisition
The SC-01 is Aerosensor’s purpose-built data acquisition companion to their probe line. It delivers true differential pressure measurement at up to 1,000 samples per second, with ±0.05% full-scale accuracy and exceptional zero stability over 24 hours. USB or Ethernet (TCP) output; included logging software is compatible with any laptop or desktop. The SC-01 pairs directly with any Aerosensor probe for a complete, self-contained measurement system.
Combined Flow and Temperature Measurement
K-Tec Systems manufactures custom thermocouples and RTDs that can be incorporated directly into Aerosensor probes for simultaneous flow and temperature measurement — delivering a complete solution from a single source. Thermocouple wire is selected and integrated to meet your specific application requirements, material constraints, and temperature range.
Probe-Integrated Thermocouples
K-Tec integrates thermocouple wire into Aerosensor probe bodies, enabling simultaneous aerodynamic and temperature data from a single measurement point — reducing rig complexity and installation time.
Custom RTD Integration
RTDs can be incorporated where higher accuracy temperature measurement is required alongside flow data — particularly for gas turbine and high-precision research applications.
U.S. Application Support
As the authorized U.S. distributor, K-Tec provides domestic support for probe selection, configuration guidance, thermocouple integration, and order coordination — backed by K-Tec’s own manufacturing expertise.
